Create Your App Listing
Crafting a strong app listing is an important part of creating your app. This is the time to sell your app to customers and have them realize the benefit that it could bring to their workflow and/or business. After reading your listing, customers should have a clear understanding of what your app is for, how it works, and why they should install it. Treat this as your chance to give your best sales pitch.
Think about yourself, if the value of a product isn't clear, or if it's not presented nicely, you're much less likely to purchase or even consider purchasing it. We don't want that for your app.
Creating a listing
For each listing, you'll be required to add the following details. What you add or how you add them is up to you, but we will review this content after submission to ensure that it's up to standards. From inside your app, click Create Listing to get started.
General
- App Title: The name of your app. This should be descriptive, even if your app will be private. The title should be than a couple of words - title vs a sentence. 😀
- Logo: Upload a logo that reflects your app. If it's an integration, you could use the logo from the other software, or if it's a custom app, create your own custom logo. In most cases, you should not use your own company logo here. Optionally add a Dark Mode Logo that will be displayed for users with dark mode enabled.
- Summary: A short description to sum up your app and entice clients to click in and learn more.
- Type: Select the category that best describes your app. There may not be a perfect match, but options may expand in the future.
- Website URL: Either your company's website or a marketing page for the app, if you have it
Details
Description
The core of your app listing. This should tell someone everything they need to know about your app.
We recommend listing at least 3 key features of your app. For example, if it integrates with another software, a benefit could be "Save time doing X". You could also give them a brief overview of how it works and what it does on each end.
Check the "Subscription to another software is required" box if customers need an account with another software in order to use your app.
Screenshots
We require each listing to have at least 3 images uploaded. If your app does something within Commerce7, display an image for each or some of the steps. Captions are optional but can be used to tell the customer what they're looking at.
Setup & Support
"Support Email" is the only field that is required in this section. Any support or questions regarding your app will be directed here. Commerce7 does not support external developer apps.
If your app is complex and you have steps that the user has to complete or fields they have to fill out when installing the app, we strongly recommend adding more information to "Install Steps". This will be displayed to clients in the app store.
If you offer phone support or have a website with a page on documentation, you can add that information here.
Approval Guidelines
In order for your app to be approved, the listing must pass the following
- ✅ Explain what your app does
- ✅ Be clear, concise, and descriptive
- ✅ Avoid spelling or grammar mistakes
- ✅ The logo should reflect your app
- ❌ Promote any other companies, services or apps
- ❌ Reference other apps or companies from the App Store in any way
- ❌ Include the words "App", "Commerce7", or (in most cases) your company name in the app title
- ❌ Use your company’s logo as the app logo (in most cases)
